The CHI

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!

I just finished the final two episodes of season 6, and I am delighted with the season. It atoned for season 5, cuz I was NOT happy with that season at all. So much so, I kinda protested this season, however that was my bad cuz It got back to the core of what the series was about. And no I don’t need to see a mass of violence in an effort to represent Chicago, cuz that’s not all that Chi has to offer but I wanted to see better storylines. Better development of characters. Better investments into the show, and they did that!

Spoiler Alert.

I’m still pissed that they didn’t Kill Douda’s ass. First of all, they didn’t even make a damn plan of how to execute a plan, just said, we gonna do it. Lets go! Idiots. Truly, so Emmett and Rob deserve everything that’s gonna come for them, simply because they were too impatient. If there is a season 7, I would like Bakari to have a redemption arch, and it stays. I know things don’t always remain neutral in the hood, but we did have a glimpse of if he could be good. I need that to return. I do love how they sent off Kevin, since this was his last season on the show. It was lovely the homage, not just of Kevin, but his relation to the other main characters. They was babies, wen they started this show. I know he will go on to do great things!

Did you watch this season? If so, thoughts?

The Chi S6

I recently binged watched The Chi Season 6, although I told myself that I would not watch. To me, keyword, season 5 was so off script of the previous seasons, that I couldnt. It was almost as if every character had forgotten who they were in relation to each other and to Otis, aka Douda. Season Five really was a trying time, but I really can’t stay away from anything depicting Chicago. So now we’re here… I don’t know if I loved this season, there are still two episodes left to air, but once again some characters are eh. Overall I do think its a great time to call it quits, there’s been a graduation, and we know how bad shows get after graduation. Re; Saved by the Bell, Moesha, etc.

I’ll say this, the spirit of community is strong this season. Having and being in a tribe is the focus this season, and the general theme of growing up. Bakari has become my favorite character because we have literally watched his growth. I do believe this season he will be coming to a fork in the road where will make a decision that will change the course of his world. Papa in the upcoming two episodes will also, have to make the same type of choice.

Will you be watching?
