Sight at First

I’ll forever love a romantic comedy, Forever. Tonight’s movie was provided by Netflix, “Love at first sight.” Its funny that it all came about because of a missed flight. I promise when I am at work (on a flight) chatting with a passenger in a flirty type of way, never crosses my mind. However I do know you can’t help where and when you’ll meet the love of your life. I think once, in my five years of being a flight attendant, I flirted back with a passenger. We were flying to Boise, but I think we had taken off from Kansas City. That also, could be wrong but we was in the back galley chatting about kanas city so maybe he was from there? At this point, who knows. I only remember and think he wasn’t just flirting because he told the lead flight attendant, as he was deplaining, that he thought I was gorgeous, and maybe he should’ve asked me for my number. This was four years ago, but the movie brought the memory back to the forefront.

Also, I need to go to London!

What the fuck.

You know its one thing to holdfast to your opinions but its another thing to judge your friends. I can understand not liking how they carry themselves, and it bleeding over on to you, but you are an adult. You are more than capable of VERBALIZING that that friendship is no longer for you. It no longer suits the person you are becoming. I know its not an easy conversation to have but babes, all this back and forth about nonsense is really getting me tight. With Brandi, you have voiced your opinion about how Hall & Tyler’s friendship makes you feel. And in turn, Hall & Tyler have continued with said friendship, CLEARLY it makes you uncomfortable. So instead of continuing on this old ass conversation, please see your way out of the friendship with Hall. I don’t believe that was the place to air out your grievances but shit, its done now.

I’ll say this, You, and everyone at the office, knows how Hall speaks. So, again, If y’all have such an issue, don’t fucking talk to her unless its business related.

Electric Dusk

I promise I had no expectations but I wanted to love this album. And I’m a bit upset that I don’t love it. Electric Dusk, by Leon Thomas.

Crash & Burn is my absolute favorite track off the album. Breaking Point is my second favorite. The slow intentional rhythmic drawl makes your heart feel like it is literally breaking. Truly its a song that makes you want to cry, but instead you close your eyes, and remember what it feels like to feel that type of love. Blue Hundreds is growing on me, but Its the beats, the live band feeling makes me want to get lost in the vibe. Is that bagpipes? I could see Treasure in the Hills being played on MTV unplugged. It has really good bones, and I really do love the lyrics. I can tolerate Slow down, but it reminds me of something from Frank Ocean, but I could be wrong.

I’m not sure if the artist was experimenting with sounds, but if that was the case we want artist to try new things, and find inspiration in other sounds, etc. But however maybe I don’t at the same time. I want to have the music (R&B) that you have given to us on a consistent bases, but I don’t want to pigeon hold you in a genre that you’d like to expand from. I know, I can’t have it both ways. I do think it is a solid album, especially if you are a fan. I’ll watch out for a tour announcement, sometimes you have to hear a song live to really determine if you hate it.

S2 E3

I did not expect to be back here this fast but I’ve watched another episode, and Polly is funny af. When she’s relaxed and amongst friends, she really does have the best one liners.

I came to chat about Austin (The other blonde) and his wife Lisa. When they was chatting about to have or not have more children, I’m sitting watching saying to myself, this is a conversation that y’all should’ve had BEFORE getting married cuz whet? I’m not sure how serious either was during this talk, but nah. Especially when Austin went into the difference in how they was raised, one in money, the other not. After watching his confessional, about not having more kids, then his wife saying, well she does want more kids. Its very easy to see resentment that will manifest on his part, if she traps him with more kids.

Stay tuned cuz there’s much more brewing.

Oh also, Because Hall made lasagna, I think I am craving lasagna too. And guess who has ground turkey in the freezer. I’m feeling for Italian baby! To Cook or Eat Out?

Probably a spoiler, but not really.

Y’all! I will go seasons without watching this show, then boom! I’m neck deep into their shit! NECK DEEP! But y’all. These grown ass people are just a hot ass mess, and definitely so great for television, cuz why are y’all at a party, cutting up? In your Sunday best, acting a plum damn fool. Kayla is a just a messy messy girl who wants to be validated by the cool kids, but babes they never ever will. Brandi, eh. I get that you want to uphold the respectability of marriage BUT let these grown ass people do whatever they want. Yes, you can express you opinion, but when it starts to come off as judgement, its at that moment that you lose your audience. In this case, Tyler. Besides all the shit that Tyler finds himself in, I do think he wants to just focus on trying to sell some houses with the buyers that his daddy connects him with. Plz leave that grown ass man alone, he dealing with some other shit, especially trying to get from under daddy’s shadow, while utilizing that same shadow.

The two blondes that were besties, aren’t besties anymore, and I get it. The engaged one (Name?) doesn’t need or want to be suggestive to sell houses. The other one (Suggestive girl) don’t give a damn about none of that if in the end, she’s able to sell those houses. Nothing much to mention of Gio, or the other blonde man (Name?) who’s wife feels like she’s the babysitter. I don’t have much to say bout Hall, do I think her and Tyler have smashed, yes but I do also believe they are actually real friends. So there’s that.

The Chi S6

I recently binged watched The Chi Season 6, although I told myself that I would not watch. To me, keyword, season 5 was so off script of the previous seasons, that I couldnt. It was almost as if every character had forgotten who they were in relation to each other and to Otis, aka Douda. Season Five really was a trying time, but I really can’t stay away from anything depicting Chicago. So now we’re here… I don’t know if I loved this season, there are still two episodes left to air, but once again some characters are eh. Overall I do think its a great time to call it quits, there’s been a graduation, and we know how bad shows get after graduation. Re; Saved by the Bell, Moesha, etc.

I’ll say this, the spirit of community is strong this season. Having and being in a tribe is the focus this season, and the general theme of growing up. Bakari has become my favorite character because we have literally watched his growth. I do believe this season he will be coming to a fork in the road where will make a decision that will change the course of his world. Papa in the upcoming two episodes will also, have to make the same type of choice.

Valentine’s Day (review)

Who knew, Valentine’s Day, the movie was good? I just finished watching, and It was throughly enjoyable. Also, It tickled me when Ashton Kutcher’s character was trying to get a ticket, and went to the Southwest Airlines Counter. The movie was a bit chaotic, it reminded me of the movie Crash, where all the characters are connected. Valentine’s Day can really bring out all the emotions, from all characters. I do like we were able to see young love, newly love, love that was ending, friendship love blossoming into more, etc.

I might have to make this a tradition. Next year, Join me, we’ll be watching Valentine’s Day. Its a Date?

Sidenote, How do y’all keep up with all the television shows/series and movies? Nevermind there’s Netflix, Starz, HboMAX, Showtime, Hulu, and every other type of streaming service, I mean, Its hard for me to remember the shows I like watching, let alone, the ones I need to Watch. I’ve been trying to rewatch “Insecure” for the past two months, so I can be emotionally prepared when the final season starts on October 23, but I haven’t even started! (SIGH!) There are so many movies/series I have saved or in my ‘watch list’ but I have no clue when I’ll be able to see them.

Plus I’ve gone back to reading. So now when I do have a bit of down time, I’m indulging in my favorite characters. Technically, I am reading two books at once currently. There’s just not enough hours in the day to do all that’s needed. How do yall do it?

While searching for the movie of the evening, I came across ‘After Earth’, decided to rewatch the trailer to refresh my memory. And Will Smith has a lovely voice! Its calming, and soothing, even when he saying something that isn’t very pleasant, but I think I could listen to him talk. Are there any actors that you could listen to their voice forever?

SZN Spooky

So Spooky Season is here! Well I’m late in writing as Spooky Season started October 1st. However lets not focus on the minor details … Ha! Well I’ve been watching scary movies, in the daytime of course, but its been a fun time. Granted I’ve watched movies I’ve seen before but in my defense, I’m easily scared, plus I live alone so there’s that. This year, I don’t have a list, I just scroll through the many many apps I have then I settle on a single or double feature.

Do yall have a tradition when it comes to the holidays? Specifically Halloween? Yes? Then Spill the Beans!

2 Deep

I can’t remember the last time I watched ‘In too Deep’ as an adult, but its a good movie. LL Cool J, plays the hell out of ‘God’, whewwwww such a great job. Omar Epps as J.Reed, definitely tipped toe the line, especially being undercover for years. I cant imagine the psychology rewriting his brain needed. Plus, although ‘God’ was sentenced to plenty of years in jail, how could J.Reed, Officer Cole, still be able to live life, without checking his shoulder for .. forever.

Could yall be an undercover cop? The adrenaline appeals to me, but not a job for me.

What does your favorite city sound like? Feel like? Every time I think of DC, it reminds me of sitting in a smokey blues lounge listening to jazz. Or when I listen to jazz, it brings me to DC. Always. I know a City can be a vibe, but I’ve only been to DC a handful of times, and it always reminds me of a 1930 jazz scene … in black and white. I haven’t been watching ‘Really Love’ like I was when it first came out but I do listen to the movie’s playlist. (I created the playlist on Spotify) The music cultivated in the movie, accurately depicts all the feels, while accurately portraying Washington DC.

What an incredible journey.
