Zoo Lights

Call me ‘Johnny come lately’ because I totally wasn’t thinking about Corona, and having to plan early for ANY/ALL activities, so I think I may have missed the opportunity to see Zoo Lights Chicago 2020. I just have a thing about Christmas lights during the holidays! So although, all the museums in Chicago have closed temporarily, the Zoo remained opened due to it being outside, and able to distanced socially. Plus all the animals are in their glass huts, looking at us, prolly wanting to throw food at our heads… be that’s a topic for another day.

Also, the Chicago Zoo is free however this year, it is not! So fingers crossed that I am able to secure the bag (Tickets) as I really want to go! Fun Fact, My first Winter in Chicago, I went to Zoo Lights then Went to the Hood, for some Jamaican food. The place has since closed but damn it was divine!

Is there a zoo lights in your city? If so, You going? And Can I tag along? Please!

U. Falls

Listen.. Before Y’all say anything I KNOW this week, month, is supposed to be all about Christmas and the holiday season but In my defense I WAS looking for a Holiday Movie to Watch … and got distracted!

Have you heard of the television series on HULU called Uptopia Falls? Hulu’s Synopsis, ‘In a genre bending take on a coming of age story, a group of teens in a distant future colony uncover an ancient forbidden archive of historical, cultural and musical relics. This discovery forces them to question everything they’ve been taught, and use the power of music to ignite change in their reality to expose the truth.’

If you are someone who is into music, this is the show for you. Picture a “Fame” but the music, dancing and the ‘flow’ all comes from Music of Past, that you were never taught, but it somehow influences EVERYTHING! I watched episode 1 & 2, and y’all I want to stay up all night and watch the rest but I am going to pace myself. Also, I already took my melantonin for the evening.

Carolin’

I doubled checked the spelling of Caroling, because it definitely looks wrong but I was assured by Webster’s Dictionary, that its correct. Random but its part of a lyric from my absolute favorite Christmas Song EVER, Can you guess?

Nope! Thats not it. Wanna try again?

Sorry, wrong again!

My favorite song Is ‘This Christmas” By Donny Hathaway. When he sings I feel like he’s singing to me, while we dance in between putting up our Christmas Tree. Although I love Chris Brown’s version of this classic song. Do you have a favorite Holiday Song? Tell me, tell me!

Last Christmas

Just finished watching “Last Christmas” and guess what? … It made me cry! I promise I am becoming such a sap when it comes to romantic comedies, but in my defense, the tears fell on their own. Have you seen the movie? Its Christmas themed throughly, with family issues thrown in, as well as the main character attempting to redefine her self, which leads her to meeting someone who helps her gain clarity on who she is now. I think that sums it up BUT go watch!

Also, I REALLY REALLY want to visit London! SO BAD! I just KNOW I’d love it, and prolly wouldn’t want to come ‘home’. Last time I felt this way, it was for Chicago, and I moved here and just never left! (WE Don’t discuss Dallas …. EVER?)

Fashion Friday

Please don’t drag me! I know I should’ve taken a better photo, but I was on my way to the airport, and I really didn’t have the opportunity but at least I took a photo! Can we celebrate the small wins? I love a good leather jacket, bonus if its not black, so this Samantha Sipos design was screaming my name, when I was browsing Rent the Runway. I paired it with a fifteen twenty white tie front top, that was actually heavier fabric that I realized. Although the detail is left out, the sleeve are blk/white stripped, which was a nice twist to a white shirt. My favorite GAP Jeans, Converse tennis shoes, and a patterned headband rounded out this week’s #FashionFriday

PS. I felt so damn cute! Not a Soul could tell me a thing! Not a Word!

Closure

Closure is a farce! I hate to be the one to tell you, but it truly doesn’t exist. There will be nothing a person could ever really say, that will cause you to ‘understand’ where they were coming from, especially when their actions caused you harm. I promise you, its best to move forward, broke heart and all. Today, I had the opportunity to chat the last man I dated. He wanted to confirmation of his character as his ex girlfriend had opened his eyes to behavior that he didn’t realize he possess. At first I was hesitant, cuz what’s the point of this exercise. However I agreed with her analyst of him, and added a few things of my own.

What was weird to me, was he only regurgitated the negative I said, I let him know, in the version of him I met, he was a good guy but he was selfish, and failed to properly communicate, when it mattered most. He went on to tell me, he was doing some soul searching, trying to understand why he was the way he was. I told him, he has unresolved issues with his parents, which continues to impact the romantic relationships he chooses to involve himself in.

So people, stop writing these long ass paragraphs, trying to get a statement, or an emotion from the other person. When the feeling is longer felt, move forward. It’ll never be easy but it’ll be worth it!

Burna Boy

Not a Real Post BUT Burna Boy should be an artist you are jamming to EVERYDAY! Every single album, there are bops, on top of bops. Currently I am listening to L.I.F.E. Leaving an impact for Eternity, phenomenal album. PHENOMENAL! I could fully whine, and get lost in the intro! The damn intro, but you can’t help but feel it. I’ll ride for Burna Boy until the end of time. My favorite tracks off this album, Intro: My Life, Smooth Sailing, but Tonight is my turn up song! Take a Listen, then tell me how much you love the album.

Bare.

Now that I am reaching my maximum age to have a baby, I am saddened that I haven’t had a baby yet. But I don’t regret any of the decisions I made that kept me too busy to focus on having kids. I believe in the timing of my life, and all the things in it. I believe in all the things that have happened, all the opportunities I’ve made the best of, and maybe I need to start accepting that I may never have a child of my own. I do have an incredible goddaughter, who is such a bright beam of light, that I am delighted that I get to spoil her in all of the best of ways. Sigh.

I don’t know how I’ll feel if I never become a mother, but I know I would be the dopest mother! In my dreams I see, play dates, museum visits, and being supportive of their interests. All the things my mother was to me, but finding ways to be whatever was needed for my own children. However, as I’ve learned, Anything can happen!

Anniversary!

Today is my website’s four year anniversary! Y’all. SHIT! I’ve been writing and putting all my business on front street for four years?! November 8, 2016, I started on this journey. And y’all know I be taking all the breaks in the World, to live life, to do nothing, to party & bullshit, but I always find myself back here. WOW! All the crazy things, I’ve done and been through, live within the ‘pages’ of my diary.

Y’all know a few weeks ago, when shorty left that comment I was tempted to delete this website. But one person’s opinion of me shouldn’t matter, cuz I know who I am. I know what my life is like, and its a damn good one! I close my eyes, and know I am living my life to the absolute fullest, and its a dream come true. Forget the traveling, but to have the freedoms I have, to not be held back by anything!

Sigh. Thank you again for supporting. For reading my crazy adventures. For being there. You mean more to me than my words could EVER describe! Thank you!

Fashion Fridays

While it was still in the low 70’s I scheduled a fall shoot in Chicago, because it was SUPPOSED to be colder … well I still rocked it! There should be something said about pairing Leopard print with Plaid … DO IT! The shoot reminded me of the first day of school, going to the football games. Fun Fact: During my first two years of high school, my boyfriend was a varsity football player who continued his education at Ohio State. This photoshoot ultimately is a nod to him, and my freshman year in Baltimore.
