Haring.

I almost forgot .. but I took a photo with Keith Haring … painting. Of Course I yelled a bit because it caught me off guard. I’m at the Art Institute Of Chicago, more than the average person, and this was the first time I was experiencing this? Crazy!

Flowering Flowers

Have I told ya I be out here putting together floral arrangements? Well Have a seat, and let me put yall up on game. I can’t remember with what day or arrangement it started with. Lets just say Valentines day. I remember the roses I put together but I cant remember much else. Luckily for you, and me if I’m being honest, I took photos! Shout Out to Trader Joe’s, If you go early in the day, there’s usually a nice selection of random flowers they put together. Depending on what flowers are talking to me, I spend no more than 15$, but I don’t buy flowers every week. When my current bouquet is dead, and I mean dead dead, then I prepare to buy a new set.

I brought tulips, to celebrate the first days of Spring, but even with a delay getting them cut and into water, they last such a long time, a few weeks. And I captured them in the dying process, up until the very last day, they were such beauties. Theres just something about fresh flowers that make you a bit happier with the day.

Made in Lagos

So … I’m listening to WizKid’s Made in Lagos on Recommendation from a Hinge Profile. Homie said its the best album of 2020, so I figured I’d take a listen. Well Idk If I’d call it the BEST Album but its damn good! Especially the Songs Roma, and Smile. Can I just say, I LOVE when British Rappers rap, so yup Skepta, is one of my favorites, actually the song Longtime is a favorite too. Made in Lagos is a chill album, Whether in the morning with a cup of tea, or at night, with a glass of wine, getting ready to go out, this album is all about feel good music. I could imagine how it would hit, hopefully in 2021/2022, we’ll be able to experience it! Have you guys heard this album?

U.Falls S2

I finished season one of Utopia Falls, and I am ready for Season two. Or at least some information on IF there will even be a season two. I won’t spoil anything for those who would like to watch but as of today, there is no word on if the series is scheduled to be canceled. I truly hope that intent the case. It’s a REALLY good series, that is very on par with the things we see in our own societies currently. Also, whoever does the music for the show, deserves a raise! Also, the series didn’t finish on a cliff hanger but I would like to see what the addition brings us, in season two.

Have you watched yet? Its on Hulu, when you do watch, who is a favorite? I like Brooklyn, Sage and Apollo. Tempo grinds my damn gears. I love Bodhi, Aliyah and Mags. Especially Mags.

Playlist

So Spotifiy’s 2020 Wrapped has been released, which showcases you musical taste for the year 2020. Not surprising, I was all about show tunes, and specifically Hamilton the Musical. Its just a testament to my OCD with how much I listened to the album, and how quickly it became my most played album/musical selection. SIdenote; There was a few nights I fell asleep to the song “Wait for it”. My best friend J has shared his playlist with me, and there’s NOT a show tune in sight! (Laughing) Its definitely a Rap/Hip Hop, with sprinkles of Reggae, Afrobeats and Caribbean sprinkled in. With a few dashes of R&B and Soul. Although I am not going to admit this to him, its a well rounded playlist. I’ve even hearted a few songs for myself.

Fashion Friday

Please don’t drag me! I know I should’ve taken a better photo, but I was on my way to the airport, and I really didn’t have the opportunity but at least I took a photo! Can we celebrate the small wins? I love a good leather jacket, bonus if its not black, so this Samantha Sipos design was screaming my name, when I was browsing Rent the Runway. I paired it with a fifteen twenty white tie front top, that was actually heavier fabric that I realized. Although the detail is left out, the sleeve are blk/white stripped, which was a nice twist to a white shirt. My favorite GAP Jeans, Converse tennis shoes, and a patterned headband rounded out this week’s #FashionFriday

PS. I felt so damn cute! Not a Soul could tell me a thing! Not a Word!

Anniversary!

Today is my website’s four year anniversary! Y’all. SHIT! I’ve been writing and putting all my business on front street for four years?! November 8, 2016, I started on this journey. And y’all know I be taking all the breaks in the World, to live life, to do nothing, to party & bullshit, but I always find myself back here. WOW! All the crazy things, I’ve done and been through, live within the ‘pages’ of my diary.

Y’all know a few weeks ago, when shorty left that comment I was tempted to delete this website. But one person’s opinion of me shouldn’t matter, cuz I know who I am. I know what my life is like, and its a damn good one! I close my eyes, and know I am living my life to the absolute fullest, and its a dream come true. Forget the traveling, but to have the freedoms I have, to not be held back by anything!

Sigh. Thank you again for supporting. For reading my crazy adventures. For being there. You mean more to me than my words could EVER describe! Thank you!

Fashion Fridays

While it was still in the low 70’s I scheduled a fall shoot in Chicago, because it was SUPPOSED to be colder … well I still rocked it! There should be something said about pairing Leopard print with Plaid … DO IT! The shoot reminded me of the first day of school, going to the football games. Fun Fact: During my first two years of high school, my boyfriend was a varsity football player who continued his education at Ohio State. This photoshoot ultimately is a nod to him, and my freshman year in Baltimore.

Drinks?

Guess what?! I went on a date! I know I know. Crazy huh? Its been such a while that I’ve been on an actual date… you know the one where a man asks you out, checks your availability, makes plans in advance.. picks you up AND drops you off. Like I didn’t know men still did, well American men. Shit, its been a while since I’ve held a conversation with a man who seems to be able to hold, and steer one. A man who can make you laugh, is worth his weight in gold. The date restored a bit of my faith in people.

Shooting Nights.

Night Shooting; Night Two.

Its all in the lighting. Everything is fully dependent on the lighting, Oh, and how steady you can hold your hand. Mind you the temps in Chicago, by the water, isn’t nothing to play with. However Night Two was a success! I am learning to appreciate the types of photos that are captured, when there isn’t a expectation in mind. Unfortunately all the minutes for night mode videos, are too dark. Way too dark, but its alright, we’ll continue to work on that. I also gave time wrap a try, and whoa! I am shookth! I only recorded three seconds, but in those few seconds I see what I can make happen and I am so excited.

PS. I’ve been keeping an open mind when editing and y’all!! The possibilities have me so super giddy. I’ll set them for the World’s consumption tomorrow!

A Fail

Its been a while since I’ve experience a fail with my photography, but tonight, I got a dose of failure. I hardly ever shoot at night, its just not a strength, If I’m being honest, but I’ve been looking to challenge myself. Before going out to shoot, I watched a few youtube videos, to familiarize myself with what my presets should be for capturing night photos. Well guys, still a fail! Granted, I didn’t have anything in particular I was attempting to capture, just wanted quality night pictures … of whatever. Well I got just that, but no quality. Well I can’t say that either.

So upon further investigation of my photos, I do like em. I actually like them a lot, BUT its still not what I think of, when thinking of great night photos. I know the artificial lighting didn’t help, but I’m going to play around with the presets, so I can find what works for me. Excited? I damn sure am!
