Love, Death & Robots.

Have yall watch this? Well please do. I started with Season two, unintentionally. However once I turned it on, it was hard to turn it off. I’ve watch a handful of Black Mirror episodes, but it reminds me of that, but animated. Each episode, between 6-13 minutes, have a different theme, but all within one of the main themes of Love, Death & Robots. I’m planning on watching season one, the beginning of next week, so there’s still time for you to jump on and watch so we can discuss.

Until then,

Meet Me Outside.

This week I have given up online dating! I CANT DO IT ANYMORE! I’ve been meeting folks off the internet for the past twenty years, and I just cant. Not anymore. I know the panorama (Covid-19) doesn’t help to meek folks in person but I cant! I am going to have to risk it, shit don’t we take risk with anything, but after two decades I am no longer interested in being pen pals. No matter what you tell people you are looking for, you are going to first meet their representatives, and I’m done meeting reps. I am me, from the first moment you meet me. In three months, a new person will not emerge. Can you say the same?

However I am living in a new city, so I am remaining hopeful I will eventually meet men of substance. We gonna have to be outside this summer cuz in person is calling my name!

JFG x 7-Eleven.

I love streetwear, even if I don’t wear it myself. I just love the thought, and the work that goes into design and marketing, especially from Black designers. So when I came across Joe Freshgoods from the Westside of Chicago, I took notice. My friends that are into the sneaker space, knew who he was but I had no such luck. So imagine my surprise when it was announced he was collaborating with 7-Eleven, with merchandise, but he was also had the opportunity to ‘take over’ a store here in Chicago.

I went to the 7-Eleven which was in the loop, on E. Wacker, but of course I didn’t bring my tripod. Right place and Right time, as there was another stylish woman taking photos. So of course I asked ‘Want me to take your photo?’ said she yes, so I slipped in that, “Can you also take mine?” Poof a photoshoot was born!

Also, I am currently obsessed with ‘Polaroid’ type photos.

Chicago’s Own.

Your favorite Non decision maker, has made a decision.

Say Congratulations, because I have officially moved to Chicago, IL! Yes, I am a resident! I even manifested this apartment yall. Its everything I want, minus being a second floor walk up but even that, I love. I moved in April 4. I know I am late telling yall, but those who needed to know, knew. Although all paperwork is filed, it felt weird being ‘stabled’ like I can’t just up and walk away. I’m giving Chicago a year, to either Wow me, so that I’ll stay here forever Or I’ll be out to my beach city.

I am just here taking my time to decorate, but I have the vision, and I am going to see it through. However for now, I am so happy! Chicago, welcome your newest resident!

Haring.

I almost forgot .. but I took a photo with Keith Haring … painting. Of Course I yelled a bit because it caught me off guard. I’m at the Art Institute Of Chicago, more than the average person, and this was the first time I was experiencing this? Crazy!

So I present, Haring & I.

Apollo-gies

When you start advocating for yourself, you start to feel better about the choices you create. I’ve decided I will no longer accept sole apologies, nah. Now, I ONLY accept financial apologies. Meaning, if they apologies are not accompanied with money, then you can keep it. Changed behavior only last long enough, until you take folks back, then they are back to do whatever it is they were doing. Totally tired of the bak and forth, I’ve found that if men have to apologize, change their behavior AND pay an apology fee, they are a tad bit willing to figure it out.

Also, I don’t want anyone’s money. Lets be clear. However if they feel I’m being unreasonable and leave, then I’ve gotten what I wanted. IF they decide I’m being reasonable, they pay the fee, then I’ve gotten what I wanted. Either way I win!

Do you accept apologies?

Traffic.

When was the last time you listened to the traffic? Thats been my favorite pastime as of late. No music, lights off, phone wherever …. and just lay and get lost in the passing of the cars. I live on a fair quiet street, although it does intersect with a Main Street in Chicago, Archer (Ave?) For the most part, after 9p, you hear very little, however tonight, it was like I was in the center of the street. I’ll chuck it up to being a beautiful Saturday night in Chicago.

Tonight made me slightly miss New York Summers in Washington Heights.

When was the last time you listened to the traffic .. for leisure?

#Afterhours

I took a few days off of social media, so I’ve been listening to music instead. Filling my head with all types of genres, and instruments. Just like you, I love that music can take us to places we’ve never been but have been, it can remind us of people and things. I just love it! Well I’m back to listening to Mack Wilds.

Although no one has asked me to I rearrange his track listings for his album “Afterhours” just because the current listing doesn’t have a flow to it. As a fan, I did him a favor, and put my stank on it. Rest Assure, he’d love it.

So here’s the new track listing.

  1. Crash
  2. Explore
  3. Stingy
  4. Stolen Gold
  5. Bonnie & Clyde
  6. Senses
  7. Obsession
  8. Go Crazy
  9. Choose
  10. Vibes
  11. #Couldthisbelove

Also I’ve opted to remove the Intro, Its not needed.

Vibe

Fellas, stop introducing women to a vibe you cannot maintain. Whatever that vibe may be. I get it, when you initially meet a person you want to be the very best version of yourself, even if it means, not fully being the person you are … on a daily basis. As a woman, we are already conditioned to know we are meeting a mans representative when we first meet you anyway, so we take the things you do with a grain of salt. Not meaning we aren’t appreciative of whatever it is you are doing but we are looking to see if the actions you put forward are ones, that you are being consistent with.

See that? It ALL Narrows down to consistency.

Please remember that as you move forward wooing the ones you are attempting to woo. Effort is everything, but consistency is the hill on which effort lives.

MAsturmusical

Weird Question to ask but …

Do you have a set playlist when its time to pleasure yourself? I was just thinking about the time we set aside for selfceare, and the ritual that follows. Which naturally got me thinking about myself, and who I listen to when I take the time to practice my own sexual self care. My Go to usually is Rico Love, but it has to be his ‘Even Kings Die’ Album.

SideNote; Its an incredible album!

35!

So, lets talk birthday.

I am 35! Whew. I remembered when I was turning 30, and was so stressed about the things I had yet to accomplish before I turned that “Big Age” but I had planned this epic birthday scavenger tour, with different points, and then Mother Nature dumped over ten inches of snow in NYC, and I wasn’t able to execute the plan. Well I did, but I was the only one on the tour. I say that to say, the stress was gone, and I was able to enjoy my birthday, even if it was solo.

This year my plans were very last minute, very off the cuff. All I knew, I didn’t want to Celebrate in Chicago. So I spent two weeks in warm temperatures, having the time of my life. Mexico City, Miami & Orlando. The time in Mex was spent, in nature, with delicious foods … EVERYDAY! Promise I will be more consistent with my Spanish! Miami was the Beach. Thats it, that’s the trip. Wake up and Beach. I ate occasionally but if it wasn’t laying in the sand, I DIDNT WANT IT! Orlando was spent with old friends, creating new ones … and theme parks!

Biggest Life Lesson for 35? Go where the Love is felt and bask in it!

Tristan J.

P.S. My Actual Birthday, January 23, was spent in New York, indulging in Dinner & Donuts. And it was … Perfection.

Stay Magical

Although we ALL know this, People will try to push their experiences onto you. Do Not Let Them! What they’ve experienced will not be your experience. You are your own Unique Self. You bring a different energy, a totally different vibe, and if that doesn’t separate you, You separate you. You have the vision you have. Maybe they can’t see thru ‘it’ to the end. Whatever you are attempting, whatever you are living thru, please Understand, you have a certain level of finesse, a certain magical, that ONLY you have.

Let it continue to shine!
